Back for 2011!

Also we have a new favorite baseball player.  If Derek Holland can run around in a Mustache that wispy and compete on national television in the ALCS, you have NO excuse for not growing one yourself.  Support DonorsChoose.org through Mustaches for Kids NY and grow a Mustache for charity!  Shaving Day is right around the corner!

T-Shirts Tonight

Does that sound like a sucky tv show, or what?  Anyway, come pick up your official M4K 2010 t-shirts tonight at Amity Hall.  If you raised at least $50 for DonorsChoose.org, it’s yours for FREE.

Plus, beers.

See you tonight at 7:00!

T-Shirts Are Here!

Hey guys, how were your holidays?  Great!  Anyway, the 2010 edition M4K t-shirts are here.

We’re going to meet up on Wednesday, January 19th to hand ‘em out at Amity Hall (you may recall it from Shaving Day).  Every Grower who raised at least $50 gets a free t-shirt; extras are available for sale for $20, all proceeds going to support more projects at DonorsChoose.org.

We also plan to celebrate the more than $141,000 that we raised for charity this year.  Yeah, that’s right.  $141 grand.  Sure, you can still hang out with us.

See you guys in a couple of weeks!

All Hail King Todd!

Last night at Soiree on the Bowery in New York City, one Mustache rose above the rest to seize the crown, and our hearts.  Congratulations to his highness Todd Florio, our new Mustache King!

Over the course of three grueling rounds Todd vanquished all other challengers to finally win the title of New York’s Sweetest ‘Stache.  This year’s judging was the toughest yet, with dozens of powerful Mustaches reaching unprecedented levels of philanthropical giving.  But with the techniques he’s perfected over four years as a Grower, Todd was able to defeat them all.

Congratulations, Todd.  And congratulations to all of our volunteer Growers for setting yet another fundraising record of almost $110,000.  Though only Todd wears the crown, you are all Kings in our book.  Thank you.

‘Stache Bash TONIGHT!!!

Nothing can prepare you for it!

Checkpoint Tonight!

. . . and there’s only TWO more days until ‘Stache Bash!  Sweet llamas of the Bahamas!

But before that, join us at Kabin in the East Village tonight for some last minute shenanigans, starting at 7:00 pm.  Mustaches get 2-for-1 drinks between 7 and 8!  Plus, there’ll be comedy at 9:00.  It’d be stupid NOT to go.  Bring your friends!  It’ll be good prep for the Bash!

Loophole

But first: HEADS UP!  Location for ‘Stache Bash 2010 has been announced!

There’s a loophole in the otherwise air-tight M4K rules against mustache-enhancing agents, discovered by 2004 Sweetest ‘Stache winner Ali King:

I’ve found  a loophole. A simple, subtle way to enhance your mustache without tampering with it in any way.  I call it “‘Stache Liner” – simply draw a very fine line around the mustache with some eyeliner or a sharpie.

Hello, Handsome!

Just a veeeerrrry fine line. You can’t really see it, but your brain knows it’s there.  I think you’ll agree that the results are quite striking.

That’s a heads-up play by a cagey veteran Grower!  You can learn more of Ali’s thoughts on Mustaches at Nothing But ‘Stache, or better yet talk to him in person at Thursday’s checkpoint at Kabin in the East Village.

The Home Stretch

Less than a week until ‘Stache Bash 2010!  We’ve raised a lot of money to improve New York City public schools so far, but we’ve still got a long way to go if we’re going to meet our $100,000 fundraising goal.

But we’ve got one more Checkpoint before ‘Stache Bash, on Thursday the 9th at Kabin in the East Village, featuring some free comedy.  But in the mean time, enjoy some Mustache-inspired art from veteran Grower Pedro Delgado.  If that doesn’t get you inspired, I don’t know what will.
